  • 250 Macro's

    Well lets see here. My ARES portable tower has a 2m and 70cm repeater plus a 2m and 70cm remote base radio's. The 2m repeater has a CAT-200. The 70cm repeater has a CAT-250 and is the main control for the complete package. This controller has a RLS-1000 connected and is hooked to the 2m repeater port 2, and both remote base radio's. With this, I can connect the 70cm repeater to either remote base radio or the 2m repeater. Or I can connnect the two remote radio's to each other and leave the two repeaters seperate. Well hope you get the idea. There are four switches on the front of the controller enclosure for actuvating the RLS board,plus it can be switched by DTMF on the main controller. There are voice messages that give the status of each function. For pictures check my web site.

    Here is an example of macro's that I use.

    User Macro 1
    *14 01 1 * 1511 * 6211 5201 6111 9002 9597 9743 9656 5200 6110

    6111 = output switch #1 on
    5201 = audio switch [voice to TX1] on
    6111 = PTT #1 on
    9002 = two
    9597 = meters
    9743 = remote
    9656 = on
    5200 = Audio switch [voice to TX1] off
    6110 = PTT #1 off

    User Macro 2
    * 14 02 1 *1510 * 6210 5201 6111 9002 9597 9743 9654 5200 6110

    6210 = output switch #1 off
    5201 = audio switch [voice to TX1] on
    6111 = PTT #1 on
    9002 = two
    9597 = meters
    9743 = remote
    9654 = off
    5200 = audio switch [voice to TX1] off
    6110 = PTT #1 off

    Event Macro 5 " Logic input 1 active high"
    * 17 05 1 * 1511 5201 6111 9002 9597 9743 9656 5200 6110

    1511 = user output switch 1 on
    5201 = audio switch [voice to TX1] on
    6111 = PTT #1 on
    9002 = two
    9597 = meters
    9743 = remote
    9656 = on
    5200 = audio switch [voice to TX1] off
    6110 = PTT #1 off

    Event macro 6 "Logic input #1 active low"
    * 17 06 1 * 1510 5201 6111 9002 9597 9743 9654 5200 6110

    1510 = user output switch #1 off
    5201 = audio switch [voice to TX1] on
    6111 = PTT #1 on
    9002 = two
    9597 = meters
    9743 = remote
    9654 = off
    5200 = audio switch [voice to TX1] off
    6110 = PTT #1 off

    There are six more strings for outputs 2,3,and 4. Which are just alike these with different voice words for the other radios.

    Link and Message Macro's

    A repeater with a link radio connected to port 2 is pointed at another repeater. You want to automatically connect them at 8:50 PM. on Sunday for a net. Then disconnect the link at 10:00 PM. Play a message to let you know the link is on or off.

    Program a scheduled event macro
    *1140 20 50 1 00 00 = macro 40 is set to fire at 2050 hours every Sunday.
    *1141 22 00 1 00 00 = macro 41 is set to fire at 2200 hours every Sunday.

    Program the event macro's
    *1740 1 * 7001 macro 40 is set to fire the internal command pointer for port 2 (connect port #2 to port #1)
    *1741 1 * 7000 = macro 41 is set to fire the internal command pointer for port 2 (disconnect port #2 from port #1)

    Program Message 12 to say, “94 link connect’ed”
    *3112 009 004 561 294 343

    009 = nine
    004 = four
    561 = link
    294 = connect
    343 = Ed

    Program Message 11 to say, “ 94 link is now off”
    *3111 009 004 561 482 632 654

    009 = nine
    004 = four
    561 = link
    482 = is
    632 = now
    654 = off

    Now you need to play a message on Saturday to announce that there is a net Sunday at 9:00 PM. There are several ways to do this.

    I’ll put a message in the Transmitter Drop Message slot. Let it play all day Saturday.
    Program the scheduler for Saturday morning at 7:00 AM. And 10:00 PM.
    *1132 07 00 1 00 00
    *1133 22 00 1 00 00

    Program Macro 32 to turn on the PTT message.
    *17 32 1 * 1641
    1641 = Turns Zone six channel four on

    Program Macro 33 to turn off the PTT message.
    *17 33 1 * 1640
    1640 = Turn Zone six channel four off

    Or program a message to play at a specific time during the day.
    Program the scheduler to play a message at 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Saturday.
    *1134 15 00 7 00 00
    *1134 20 00 7 00 00

    Program Macro 34 to play message 15.
    *17 34 5201 6111 3115 5200 6110

    5201 = [voice to TX 1]
    6111 = PTT #1 ON
    3115 = play message 15 with interruption with COR
    5200 = [voice to TX 1 OFF]
    6110 = PTT #1 OFF

    I have not tried this. But it should work. If you see an error in this, Please let me know.
