  • No voice message output from CAT-200B

    Hi Folks,

I have a CAT-200B unit here with some problems with voice output. At power up it keys PTT for a few minutes with no audio output at all. Afther that it works normally.

I found that the problem comes from the voice IC chip MSP53C391. Every time CAT-200B needs to output a voice signal there is just a long PTT without voice at all. Removing the chip I got the normal timing of PTT but obiously no voice output at all.

Have read the datasheeet and seems that the set of words are programmed into the chip, so I'm afraid that the IC is faulty or got erased some way.

I'm looking for a new programmed chip

    Thanks in advance
