  • "Cat-300DXL REPEATER ID $ Long carrier before drop out.

Al i;am new at this programing but i'am making progress. But i have two problems i cannot solve. One is when the repeater set's idle for a while and you key it up the "CAT-300DXL REPEATER id's INSTEAD OF THE VOICE ID THAT WAS PROGRAMED. ONCE THE REPEATER IS ACTIVE IT WILL ID LIKE IT WAS PROGRAMED. THE OTHER PROBLEM IS WHEN YOU KEY UP THE REPEATER AND UN-KEY THERE WILL BE A DOUBLE BEEP THAT I PROGRAMED BUT THE REPEATER WILL STAY KEYED UP FOR ABOUT 4 SECONDS BEFORE IT WILL DROPS OUT. IF YOU HAVE ANT SUGGESTIONS ON THESE PROBLEMS I WOULD VERY GREATFUL TO YOU TO GETTING THEM RESOLVED.
    THANKS

    Cat-300dxl Repeater Id

    Hi Wayne,

Did you program both ID slots? If the repeater has been at rest for a period in excess of the ID timer setting, typically ten minutes, when the repeater is keyed, ID #1 will be active. After the initial ID, then ID #2 will be active.

By DTMF, ID #1 is programmed by command *3101.
By DTMF, ID #2 is programmed by command *3102.

As for the 4 second "hold" time, that is normal. You can change the default 4 seconds by programming timer *605 (Courtesy Beep to PTT Drop Timer).
