CAT-250 Florida Medical Repeater System

To configure a CAT-250 controller to operate within the Florida Medical System program, proceed as follows:

Using the CAT-250 Configuration Editor (Figure 1), open file FLMEDICAL.250. This file and the following examples will display transmitter call letters of [KGE633] and an assigned county number of [12].

Program CW Identification
To program your stations call letters, open the Program CW Identification by clicking on the Morse Code Key icon along the top of the editor (See Figure 2). Change the CW message to the assigned call letters of your station. Click OK when complete.

Program Macros
Next program a User Macro to wake-up the repeater. Use your assigned county number to program the User Code. In this example, the county number is 12. You will need to change the county code in two locations:

1) Change the User Code to your county code plus a star for Macro 1 and 2.
2) Change column 4 [9012] to make the voice announcement reflect the assigned county number again for Macro 1 and 2.

Activation Of The RS-232 Port With Dipswitch #8
To activate the RS-232 port, set the DC power to OFF. Set dipswitch #8 to ON. Turn the DC power to ON.

Activation Of The RS-232 Port By Radio
To activate the RS-232 port, key-up into Port #1 and enter the control operator prefix code [100] followed by [97]. The voice synthesizer will say: "CONNECT" and the transmitter will drop.



To download the file template, hold your mouse over the filename link to the right and right-click your mouse. Select Save Target As... and save into the same directory as the CAT-250 editor. This location is usually:
C:\Program Files\Cat Files\CAT-250
